Pacific Ashtanga’s Year of the Horse Personal Challenge – February 9, 2014 – 2015
1. Your daily practice (whatever it consists of) 6/days per week and 5/days per week on Moon days.
2. Daily two-minute meditation of gratitude.
EVERY DAY for one year. Practice can be a sun salute with meditation.
Guruji’s words: our practice has three bodies – external, internal and spiritual. Own your practice.
Develop stamina, energy, strength. “Stand correct” Open up to self knowledge.
Chopin’s Prelude 4 in E – The beauty of the music is found in how we play each note. The beauty of our practice is found in how we articulate each breath and movement. The beauty of life is found in being present for each moment.
Honor the “gifts” of our practice – vinyasas and breath “link” together our practice.
Remain present, focus on your perfect breath, engagement of all muscle groups like “moving our bodies through water.” Articulate movement – reach to your edge – punctuate your breath/movement.
Mind training – master our own minds with focus, remaining present, every breath, each vinyasa.
