Let’s review this Semester

Backbending – opening the FRONT of your body.

Urdhva Mukha Svanasana (upward facing dog) – Eastern intensive stretch
Drop your hips to lengthen your hip flexors; pull your heart through your arms
Press your pinkie toes into your mat for internal rotation
Release, lengthen and strengthen your psoas and iliacus muscles

Feet/toes + Psoas + Bandhas + Big Breath and Big

Opening up the front of our body – Physical, Emotional and Spiritual elements
Shrink through Fear/Protection
Open to your tallest, biggest, widest self (big, deep ayama breaths)
Freedom from old patterns

Homework this week

Be aware of what is happening to your body when we shrink or when we’re
BIG, WIDE, TALL

~ no dead feet – engage feet and legs fully in updog,  standing and seated poses ~
