A New Year of Transformation
Our practice maintains health of our “3 bodies” –  External, Internal and Spirit Bodies.
Latest neuroscience findings:  Brain growth usually slows at 25 years.

However, neuroplasticity studies have shown that brain health can be maintained, and
remain vibrant, by staying present, breathing, physical movement, peaceful mind and positive attitude.

Preparing for the New Year

A.  Review 2014's journal ...set your intentions for 2015

B. Be mindful of what you are grateful for and use that as your foundation for this upcoming New Year

C.  Take care of your "3 Bodies" - External, Internal & Spiritual

  • Assess your external, physical body.  Are you eating the right nourishing foods?  When you are enjoying your meal, perhaps focus on being grateful for how that food ended up in your plate; Thank the farmer who lovingly grew the food, thank the people who picked and delivered the food to market,  thank the checker wh bagged the food (with a big smile :)  )
  • Ask yourself - "How do I grow as a human being?"  Perhaps exercise more compassion, kindness, non-judgment, understanding to yourself and others ... train your mind/change your brain on this path … breathe ... calm ... peaceful ...

Ask yourself - "What do I want in my life?"   Become more aware of your needs ... got peace?  got joy?  got "comfort in your own skin?"  got love?
  • Daily meditation of gratitude will infuse your spirit body with light, purpose in helping yourself and others.

Three Jewels - 
1.  Our highest spiritual potential;
2.  The teachings to the path of enlightenment; and
3.  The Sangha, our community

Life is precious - what do you want to create this upcoming year?

Cherokee Elder - Two Wolves

An old Cherokee chief was teaching his grandson about life ...
"A fight is going on inside me, " he said to the boy. 
"It is a terrible fight and it is between two wolves."
"One is evil - he is anger, envy, sorrow, regret, greed.
arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies,
false pride, superiority, self-doubt, and ego."
"The other is good - he is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity,
humility,kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity,
truth, compassion and faith."
"This same fight is going on inside you, and inside every
other person, also."
The grandson thought about it or a moment, and then
ask his grandfather, "Which wolf will win?"

The old chief simply replied, "The one you feed."
